Accredited:
Uganda Ministry of EducationLocated on our campus in Mbale, we operate a Uganda government-accredited primary school offering classes from Primary 1 (P1) through Primary 7 (P7). Our pupils consistently perform well in both local and national examinations, and we continue to welcome new students each term.
Operating
Since opening its doors in 1996, Nyanga Integrated Primary School in Mbale, Uganda has proudly graduated many pupils who have gone on to contribute meaningfully to their communities. However, as a non-profit, NGO-run institution, we face significant challenges that threaten the safety, quality, and sustainability of our educational mission.
Challenges & Setbacks
Infrastructure & Safety Concerns
- Aging Facilities: Our buildings have deteriorated over time, creating unsafe learning conditions.
- Lack of Maintenance Support: Without regular upkeep, classrooms and school structures continue to degrade.
Educational Resource Gaps
- Insufficient Classroom Space: Overcrowding limits effective teaching and learning.>
- No Library or Computer Rooms: Students lack access to reading materials and digital learning tools.
- Limited Donor Support: Inconsistent funding makes it difficult to plan and sustain improvements.
Student Welfare & Nutrition
- No Agricultural Funding: We cannot grow food to support student meals.
- No Kitchen or Cafeteria: There is no facility to prepare or serve meals.
- No Hall Room: We lack a space for assemblies, indoor activities, or shelter during bad weather.
Recreation & Development
- No Playground or Sports Areas: Children miss out on physical development and play, which are vital to holistic education.
Staff & Operational Needs
- No Teacher Housing: Teachers travel long distances, affecting retention and morale.
- No Transport Vehicle or Van: Students and staff struggle with accessibility and safety.
- No Clinic for Emergencies: We are unable to respond quickly to health issues or injuries.
- No Security Measures: The school lacks proper protection against theft and vandalism.
